A new member has been added to the Supervisory Board of Maxima Grupė, Jurgita Šlekytė, who has also been elected to succeed Jolanta Bivainytė as Chairwoman of that body. As of 1 June, J. Šlekytė was appointed a Member of the Board of Directors of Vilniaus Prekyba UAB, having previously served as head of legal services at Maxima Grupė. She has been working in the group for more than 10 years.

Maxima Grupė has successfully completed the deal to acquire the remaining shares of Emperia Holding S.A. and now holds 100 percent shares directly and through subsidiary of Emperia Holding S.A. The Group has paid about EUR 8.3 million for 2.87 percent shares previously owned by small shareholders.

Maxima Grupė, having completed the deal to acquire Polish company Emperia Holding S.A. after which it became the main shareholder, exercised the right to acquire the remaining shares of the company. Emperia Holding S.A. runs the retail chain Stokrotka.

In 2017, Maxima Grupė continued to steadily grow its business. Group turnover rose 4.2 percent compared with 2016 to EUR 2.806 billion. The company kept a stable level of profitability, with a consolidated net profit for 2017 of EUR 75 million, and invested more than EUR 70 million in fixed assets.

CEO and Chairman of the Board of Maxima Grupė Dalius Misiūnas was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Emperia Holding S.A. during the general meeting of company‘s shareholders. In April, Maxima Grupė became the main company‘s shareholder after acquiring 93.7 percent shares (worth EUR 276m) of Emperia Holding S.A. that runs Polish retail chain Stokrotka.
