From 1 November 2019 the CEO of Maxima Grupė Jolanta Bivainytė becomes the new CEO of Franmax, and remains to manage both positions. She replaces Povilas Šulys, who as of 6 November 2019 becomes the board member of Vilniaus prekyba.

Maxima Bulgaria, owned by Maxima Grupė, has received an approval by the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) regarding rental of the stores from the local retail chain Triumph. The stores are situated in the city of Plovdiv, the second biggest city of the country.

The international credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s reviewed Maxima Grupė’s operations and financial performance and affirmed that for a second year the owner of retail companies in the Baltic States, Poland and Bulgaria retains its solid BB+ credit rating with a stable outlook. Maxima Grupė remains one of the few retailers in the Eastern and Central European region to have obtained and made public an international credit rating.

Effective 15 October, the supervisory board of Maxima Grupė adopted a resolution to appoint Rasa Milašiūnienė as the independent member of the audit committee of the company until the end of the current term of office of the audit committee of the company. She is joining Irena Petruškevičienė and Rytis Jezepčikas who currently hold position of the audit committee of Maxima Grupė.

“Maxima Grupė revenue increased by almost 24% versus the same period last year and reached EUR 1.9 billion in the first half of 2019, with growth mainly coming from expansion in Poland. But the group’s profitability was down as a result of weaker results in Lithuania and Estonia,” said Maxima Grupė’s Chief Financial Officer Vitalij Rakovski.
