CEO and Chairman of the Board of Maxima Grupė Dalius Misiūnas was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Emperia Holding S.A. during the general meeting of company‘s shareholders. In April, Maxima Grupė became the main company‘s shareholder after acquiring 93.7 percent shares (worth EUR 276m) of Emperia Holding S.A. that runs Polish retail chain Stokrotka.
In total, 5 members were appointed to the Supervisory Board. In addition to mr. Misiūnas, the members of the newly elected Supervisory Board are: Vygintas Šapokas (Chairman of the Board at Maxima Eesti and Board member at Maxima Grupė), Arūnas Zimnickas (CEO of Supersol Spain and Board member at Maxima Grupė) and independent Supervisory Board members Karol Maciej Szymański and Marcin Jasiński.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board will be elected during the first meeting of the Board which will be held in the nearest future.
With 437 stores, Stokrotka retail chain occupies about 20 percent of the market for near-home stores. The company employs about 8.2 thousand workers, and its turnover in 2017 amounted to EUR 607m.
Maxima Grupe controls retail chains under brands Maxima (in Baltics states), Aldik (in Poland), T-Market (in Bulgaria) and an electronic online shop of food and daily consumer goods Barbora. Maxima Grupe is part of Vilniaus Prekyba, one of the largest retail groups in the Baltics and Central and Eastern Europe.
