2008 07 01

This week Margus Pärn is starting as the head of Maxima Eesti, a company of MAXIMA GRUPĖ. The new director general will replace the up-to-now leader Žydrūnas Valkeris, who is planning to get involved in new MAXIMA GRUPĖ expansion projects.

"We value Žydrūnas Valkeris' contribution to the creation and establishment of Maxima Eesti in the Estonian retail trade market. After more than 10 years of executive work in MAXIMA GRUPĖ companies in different countries he is ready for new challenges. We are certain that the new leader Margus Pärn will effectively contribute to the company's rapid expansion and growth as well as increase awareness and will help to understand and satisfy the shopping needs of our customers in Estonia even better," said Gintaras Marcinkevičius, Director General of MAXIMA GRUPĖ.

According to MAXIMA GRUPĖ Personnel Director Sakalas Gorodeckis, the new company's director general was chosen due to his expertise in the areas of finance and trade. In addition, it is expected that due to his good knowledge of the local market, the new leader will help the company to understand the peculiarities of Estonia's culture of consumption better. Before starting working at Maxima Eesti, the 38-year-old Estonian Margus Pärn, who grew up in Saaremaa, was heading one of the largest Estonia's fast moving consumer goods distribution company Sales – Star. Before that he was the head of finance management and control departments of companies Norma, Estonia, and Maag Grupp. Mr. Parnas has degrees from the Faculty of Economics of Tallinn University of Technology and International business studies of Estonian Business School.
