On Tuesday, 30 September, the most popular companies and trademarks among Latvians were announced. Maxima received the highest evaluation in its category, it was recognised as the most favourite retail chain in Latvia.
By the prestigious general evaluation, Maxima gained very high – fifth place in Latvia, it is a new and splendid achievement. Latvians elected their favourite trademark in the poll organised by advertising agency DDB Latvija and business magazine Kapitals for the forth year in a row.
By general assessment, the first place among trademarks was gained by Nokia, second – Laima, third – Hansabanka (present Swedbank), forth – Visa card, fifth, as it was already mentioned – Maxima, sixth – washing-up liquid Fairy, seventh – Cido, eight – Latvijas Mobilais Telefons, ninth - Latvijas Neatkariga televizija, tenth - Orbit.
International trademark research methods that are currently applied in as many as 30 countries of the world were employed in the research. The research was conducted by the market public opinion research centre SKDS, which polled 1 000 Latvians in this August.
It should be noted that the retail chain Maxima received the second place by Latvians when choosing the most beneficial trademark.
It is extremely pleasant to see a huge jump made by Maxima in the general popularity table – last year, this trademark was in the 12th place in the public poll.
