Company MAXIMA GRUPĖ will be headed by Mr. Mindaugas Bagdonavičius

Starting from today, MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB, which manages retail chains in the Baltic States and Bulgaria, will be headed by Mr. Mindaugas Bagdonavičius. The new General Director will replace his predecessor Mr. Gintaras Marcinkevičius, whose tenure has come to an end and who intends to work more intensively in the Board of VP GRUPĖ, UAB.
Since 2005, when Mr. Gintaras Marcinkevičius took over the management of the company, MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB has been rapidly expanding the group's companies MAXIMA LT, MAXIMA Latvija, MAXIMA Eesti and MAXIMA Bulgaria, strengthening the companies' positions in each country, and has switched to centralised management of companies that are members of MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB.
"This position is an important challenge for me. Considering the changing economic situation, new goals related to management of the company have been set. As active expansion of the retail chain MAXIMA has already taken part, my key objective will be increasing effectiveness of operations", the new General Director of MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB was saying.
Before his appointment to the position of CEO of MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB, 38-year-old M.Bagdonavičius has worked in the Board of MAXIMA GRUPĖ, headed UAB "Ermitažas", and some time ago he was responsible for real estate management and development in MAXIMA GRUPĖ. From 2004 to the end of 2005, he was heading the shopping chain MAXIMA Latvija. Mr. Bagdonavičius started his career in the companies of the VP GRUPĖ in 1992.
According to Mr. Bagdonavičius, Mr. Gintaras Jasinskas, who was appointed to the General Director's position on the 1st of January 2008, will continue managing MAXIMA LT, UAB, a retail company owned by MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB in Lithuania.
MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB manages retail trade business in the Baltic States and Bulgaria, which consists of 430 shopping centres "Maxima X", "Maxima XX", "Maxima XXX", "T-Market", and "Ermitažas": 232 in Lithuania, 125 in Latvia, 49 in Estonia, and 24 in Bulgaria. All the companies employ over 25 thousand members of staff. Turnover of MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB in nine months of the current year grew by 29% and exceeded LTL 7.3 billion, inclusive of VAT. This is almost LTL 1.65 billion more that in the same period of 2007. MAXIMA GRUPĖ, UAB is owned by the company VILNIAUS PREKYBA.
