Maxima Grupė is strengthening purchasing competencies for international expansion

Maxima Grupė has decided to establish the new company Maxima International Sourcing in which it will concentrate centralized purchasing competencies. The new company will provide agency services to the retail chains owned by Maxima Grupė in the Baltics, Poland and Bulgaria, develop private label brands, and engage in wholesale activities. The company will be established at the beginning of next year.

Maxima International Sourcing will be created by separating off activities of Franmax, which currently provides franchise and agency services for the group’s companies. FRANMAX, UAB and MAXIMA International Sourcing, UAB will continue operating as separate companies after the reorganization.

“We will establish the new company with the aim of strengthening our international purchasing competencies. By doing that we will be able to ensure a clear division of functions among the group’s companies, faster decisions, as well as seek opportunities to acquire goods in different markets on better terms and with more efficiency,” says Dalius Misiūnas, the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Maxima Grupė.

It is planned that the newly established Maxima International Sourcing will have more than 125 employees and will be based in Vilnius.

Franmax will continue to provide franchise and support services for the group’s companies in the areas of IT, supply chain and stores development.
