Opening of the first MAXIMA XXX in Estonia
On the 10th of June, the first MAXIMA XXX store was opened in Parnu (Estonia). This is the first store of this type in Estonia, where only MAXIMA X and XX shopping centres were operating.
Vakar, birželio 10 dieną, Estijoje, Parnu mieste atidaryta pirmoji MAXIMA XXX parduotuvė. Tai pirmoji tokio tipo parduotuvė Estijoje, kur iki šiol veikė vieno arba dviejų iksų MAXIMA prekybos centrai.
According to Žydrūnas Valkeris, the Executive Director of MAXIMA Eesti OU, the area of the shopping centre covering approx. 5,100 square meters is almost three times larger than that of the largest MAXIMA store in Estonia up to this day. The largest MAXIMA XXX shopping centre offers products of over 40,000 different names.
Here buyers will always find fresh meat, fish, locally made buns or ready-made gastronomy and confectionery products.
MAXIMA XXX store will have convenient working hours: seven days a week, from 8.00 to 23.00. The shopping centre will employ 250 members of staff.
Moreover, some premises in the shopping centre are allotted to a branch of a bank, representation of an insurance company, jewellery store, florists, store of sports articles, etc. A restaurant and a beauty centre offer to take a brake from hectic life.
According to the Executive Director of MAXIMA Eesti OU, they are planning to open approx. 20 new MAXIMA shopping centres this year.
At the time being, there are 48 shopping centres in Estonia. MAXIMA holds 11% of Estonian retail market, yet they expect to increase it to 14-15% by the end of this year.
Sales of MAXIMA Eesti OU in Q1 2008 grew by almost 55% and amounted to LTL 211 million.
