The construction of a new MAXIMA logistics centre began in Estonia
Maxima Eesti OÜ network owned by MAXIMA GROUP began the construction of one of the largest logistics centres in Estonia. The total area of the centre in Harjumma County is 45 thousand square meters. After completion it will offer about 350 new jobs.
 
The construction of the new Maxima Eesti OÜ logistic centre began in mid-July. The investment in this facility totals almost 30 million euro, and 350 new jobs will be offered in the logistical centre after the construction is complete. The construction is scheduled for completion in December 2015.
 
The project will cover the central warehouse complex, which will serve Maxima supermarkets all over Estonia. The total area of the logistics centre along with warehouses and offices will be about 45 thousand square meters. This will be one of the largest logistics centres in Estonia build at the same time. The centre will consist of the warehouses of dry products, refrigerated containers and tare, as well as 130 platforms for the acceptance of products, which will serve about 300 trucks on a daily basis. It is expected that the number of vehicles supplying products for Maxima supermarkets will be reduced in this way.
 
Manager of Maxima Eesti OÜ Vaidotas Pačėsa says that the preparation for the construction of the new logistics centre became a good model of co-operation between the company and the local government. The company will invest an additional 1 million euro in roads, utility networks and other infrastructure, and is committed to co-operate in supporting several social projects in the district. Maxima Eesti OÜ as already has supported the design of kindergartens in Peetri and Jüri villages and the landscaping of Kurnia Park.
 
The new logistics centre was designed by Nord Projekt AS, the general contractor of the project is AS Ehitusfirma Rand ja Tuulberg, and the project author supervision is performed by AS Telora-E.
